Bell Curve City and Section 8 Housing: Spread of Vouchers in Ferguson and Metropolitan St. Louis Prove the Government has Declared War on White America

A couple years ago, Darnell Xavier "Chuckie" Vaughn was arrested in Minnesota for the murder of two black women in Ferguson, Missouri. Turns out, his father and mother (Darwin Vaughn and Lois Adams), as well as his friend DeAndrew Galmore helped him escape and they were arrested as well.

But it's the story surrounding the murder perpetrated by Vaughn, published by a local St. Louis news affiliate, which details a world only black people are capable of collectively creating. [Police identify 2 women found shot to death in Ferguson apartment,, 8-31-2012]:
Police have indentified the two young women who were found shot to death in a Ferguson apartment early Friday morning.
The victims have been identified as Tasheerra Johnson, 29, and Claudia Williams, 30. Police said Johnson and Williams were found dead Friday morning at the Oakmont Townhomes Complex in the 1600 block of Northwinds Estates Drive.
Officials said family members discovered the bodies just after 6 a.m.
Investigators said the victims apparently died from gunshot wounds. Police said a baby was also found the apartment and was not harmed.
Officers say a vehicle belonging to one of the victims was reported missing, but has been located in Madison County, Illinois. Officials did not elaborate further on the vehicle's exact location.
Several neighbors told News 4 the complex is notorious for having guns fired. One lady said she's made several complaints and has been robbed, but nothing has been done. She said since this recent incident, she plans on breaking her lease.
News 4's Laura Hettiger called the management property asking about gunshots, but the person who answered the phone said they had no comment and hung up on her.
Ferguson Police are urging anyone with information on this case or the missing vehicle to contact authorities.
Perhaps the story of Darnell Xavier "Chuckie" Vaughn and the violence at Oakmont Townhomes Complex illuminates why the mayor of Ferguson noted this about the relationship of the white police force to the 67 percent black population of the city

"The African-American community - youth in the African-American community in particular - has something against law enforcement in many ways," Knowles said.
"They don't like law enforcement, and they don't think law enforcement likes them."
No, not perhaps. Oakmont Townhomes in Ferguson (along with Northwinds Apartments, where Michael Brown called "home") has more Section 8 voucher holders/rents than any tract in the entire state of Missouri. And it's 99 percent black. [As low-income housing boomed, Ferguson pushed back, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 10-19-2014]:

The data on Section 8 also show that the subsidies have tended to cluster in lower-income areas. Many inner-ring North County suburbs are disproportionately absorbing the tenants who have flocked to aging apartment complexes.
That includes Ferguson. A census tract that consists of a portion of Oakmont Townhomes and Northwinds Apartments and stretches eastward into unincorporated St. Louis County had more Section 8 renters in 2013 than any tract in the entire state, according to HUD estimates.
In that area, nearly 20 percent of the 5,000 people who lived there were in Section 8 units. More than half of those households had median incomes of less than $10,000; 57 percent were headed by one parent; and 99 percent were African-American.
According to records from the Housing Authority of St. Louis County, three of the top nine recipients of Section 8 payments from June 2011 to June 2014 were the owners of Park Ridge, Northwinds and Oakmont. Currently, more than 200 tenants in those complexes have vouchers.

The concept of income inequality is just the economic expression of blacks collective genetic limitations when compared to what whites can collectively achieve: in the absence of the white population, which built Ferguson (the city was 99 percent white in 1970), the city took on the character - and its economic fortunes were built on - of the rising black demographic majority.

Stop Being So Positive by Gabriele Oettingen

We’ve all heard a great deal about the power of positive thinking. Organizations encourage it among their employees in an effort to boost performance and engagement, and it’s a key tenet of “managing yourself” well; affirmative messages about perseverance, resilience, and vision adorn many an office wall. In the wake of the Great Recession, some businesses even hired happiness coaches to get their workers looking on the bright side. And an optimistic attitude is expected of leaders; politicians and corporate executives should always have that “think it-do it” spirit on display.
There’s just one problem, however. Research my colleagues and I have performed over the past two decades suggests that positive thinking doesn’t actually help us as much as we suppose. In fact, across dozens of peer-reviewed studies examining the effects of positive visions of the future on people pursuing various kinds of wishes — from health-related, such as losing weight, quitting smoking, or recovering quickly from surgery, to the improvement of professional or academic performance (for example, mid-level managers wishing to reduce job-related stress, graduate students looking for a job, or school children seeking to get good grades) — we’ve consistently found that people who positively fantasize make either the same or less progress in achieving attainable wishes than those who don’t.
This makes perfect sense, if you think about it. Dreaming about a successful outcome in the future is pleasurable, leaving you with a nice, warm feeling of satisfaction. But in a workplace setting, that’s counterproductive. You’re less motivated to buck up and make the strong, persistent effort that is usually required to realize challenging but feasible wishes. In some of our studies, we found that positive thinking produced measurably lower systolic blood pressure — a key measure of how energized someone is. In others, positive thinkers were as likely as participants in a control group to take easy steps toward a goal, but significantly less likely to take more cumbersome and difficult steps, such as donating meaningful amounts of their time or money.
“Okay,” you might say, “Forget positive thinking. I’m going to dwell on all the daunting challenges I face in my job.” But, unfortunately, dwelling on reality doesn’t help much either.
What does help is mental contrasting, an exercise that brings together our positive fantasy about the future with a visualization of the obstacle standing in the way. Even more beneficial is adding if-then planning that allows you to address the obstacle when it arises.
In our research, we’ve developed a mental contrasting tool called WOOP — Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan. Here’s how it works: Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed, switch off your devices, and close your eyes. Name a wish that is attainable or realistic for you — say, landing a new client. Then imagine for a few minutes what would happen if that wish came true, letting the images flow freely through your mind. Then change things up. Identify the main obstacle inside you that stands in the way, and imagine it for a few minutes. Now on to your plan: If faced with obstacle X, then you will take effective action Y in response.

For Halloween, a collection of scary stories by literary greats. This collection of 19th-century ghost tales includes works by Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, and Henry James. By Danny Heitman

On Halloween, a day devoted to scary stories, editor and author Michael Sims has a first-person recollection that ranks as a real spine-tingler. It’s about the day he fell into an open grave, seeing the view as few living people do – from the bottom up, not the top down.
Just in time for All Hallow’s Eve, Sims has released The Phantom Coach, a collection of classic Victorian ghost stories published by Bloomsbury in a softcover edition. The book includes creepy tales from Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, Henry James, Rudyard Kipling, and Ambrose Bierce, among others.
Sims, who edited the anthology, tells readers in his introduction that he had a personal experience with terror – a moment every bit as chilling, one gathers, as the tales he’s assembled from 19th-century masters of the macabre.

“I remember the view from the grave,” Sims tells readers. “Stars spiraled in front of my eyes when I hit the damp soil at the bottom. Up there on the faraway earth, past six feet of square muddy wall, a man and a boy stared down at me – my brothers, Gary and David, both laughing. Until I slipped and fell in the grave, we had been setting up the graveside for a funeral.”
Gary, 11 years older than Sims, worked for a funeral home, and Michael was helping him out. Michael Sims’s moment in the grave didn’t last long, but it deepened his appreciation of ghost stories.

Report: 71 Percent of New Jobs Go to Foreign Born Legal, Illegal Immigrants in NH

Gang of Eight

( – A new report by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) shows that the state with senators who both voted for the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill, which cleared the Senate in June, has 71 percent of its job growth going to foreign-born workers, including legal and illegal immigrants.
Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) both voted for Senate Bill 744, which CIS calculated would have roughly doubled the number of new foreign workers allowed into the country and would have given legal status to millions of illegal aliens already in the country had the legislation been passed by the House and become law.
A CIS analysis using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey showed that since 2000, 71 percent of the net increase in the number of working-age (16 to 65) people holding a job in New Hampshire has gone to immigrants (legal and illegal), even though the native-born accounted for 65 percent of population growth among the working-age.
As a result, the share of natives holding a job in the state has declined significantly. Natives without a college education were affected the most by this trend, according to CIS.
“Job growth in New Hampshire has not been very strong,” Steven Camarota, CIS director of research and co-author of the report, said in a statement issued with the report. “The situation for natives without a college education has been particular bad.
“Thus it is surprising that many of New Hampshire’s politicians supported the Gang of Eight bill, which would give work authorization to illegal immigrants and dramatically increase the number of foreign workers allowed into the country in the future,” Camarota said.

NYC Builders Spend Billions More on Homes in Luxury Boom By David M. Levitt

New York City developers will spend 60 percent more on new homes this year, while adding only 22 percent more units, a sign of the market’s tilt toward luxury condominiums, the New York Building Congress said.
Spending on new housing will reach $10.9 billion, the most in records dating to 1995 and $4.1 billion more than last year’s total, the trade group said in a report released today. The number of homes that money will build is 22,500, up from 18,400 in 2013.
A record wave of ultra-luxury condo projects planned or under construction in Manhattan accounts for the “wide disparity” between costs and unit production, said Frank Sciame, chairman of the New York Building Foundation, the trade group’s philanthropic arm.
“While any and all new housing stock is certainly welcome, the key to the city’s future success will rest in part on our ability to produce a wide range of housing at multiple price points,” Sciame, chief executive officer of F.J. Sciame Construction Co., said in a statement accompanying the report.
Mayor Bill de Blasio took office in January, pledging to produce or preserve 200,000 units of affordable housing over the next 10 years. The building congress urged the mayor to form a partnership with developers to achieve that goal, in part through zoning changes, reviving stalled projects and streamlining regulations.

'Сhickenshit' & 'Coward': US officials go tough on Netanyahu

The truth eventually catches up and no one can outrun it, not even Alex Jones. Alex Jones is Sinking Like the Titanic as He Tries Desperately to Convince the People Jews are Good. By Whitewraithe

Things are not looking good at the central Texas command center, as Alex Jones has managed to slowly transform himself into yet another fake conservative talk show host.  The vast majority of his old audience is gone, having been replaced primarily with Fox News viewers, Kosher friendly conservative talk radio listeners and young beta males.  Having already embraced Jews like Michael Savage and Matt Drudge who are staples of the fake pro-Jew brand of American conservative media, it is obvious which side he chose.  Needless to say, he chose poorly.
It seems as if his popularity has peaked.  Due to his inability to expose the Jewish power structure, an increasing number of people have gotten fed-up with his constant lies and gross exaggerations about historical events.  His crazy-insane antics certainly haven’t helped his cause.  He continues to do everything in his power to not talk about Jews.  If he has to make up bizarre conspiracies in order to avoid the issue, he will do so.
Take for example his recent coverage on Barack Obama’s Ebola Czar, who is a Jew named Ron Klain.  Instead of exposing the fact that he’s a Jew, Jones decided to focus on how Klain supports a depopulation plan to kill off Africans.  I couldn’t stomach listening to his entire show, but he probably tied Klain’s appointment as Ebola Czar to some vast government conspiracy to depopulate Africans with the Ebola virus.  Even though there are “population control” schemes which have been thrown around by various elites, it is obvious that they have not been implemented, with the “flood the entire world with Negroes” Jew agenda winning out over any logical agenda to cull the Negro.

Feminism Collides with Race
Another day, another dumb liberal video has gone mega viral.
This time we have a horrifying episode of a young woman getting harassed on the street by a whole lot of dudes. Filmed during one 10-hour walk around New York City, the short video has driven predictable outrage at the oppression women face when they get cat called and complimented walking in the city.
Naturally, this clip makes a perfect battering ram to attack American men, particularly White men, for their rampant misogyny and rape-like behavior. Cue the comparisons to Gamergate and all the other episodes of men attacking women.
But there’s a massive elephant in the room that’s getting little notice—all the men catcalling are Black and Hispanic. Instead, of a “man” problem, this looks more like a non-White problem…and that’s what it really is.
The “street harassment” problem has arisen recent years largely due to the rise of young, college-educated Whites gentrifying urban hellholes. While more Whites and Asians are moving in, not all of the non-Whites are moving out. Thus, we have more women who spent four years learning gender theory coming face-to-face with virile minorities who give zero fucks about urban elf etiquette. Now we have a street harassment problem.
Considering that these are urban elves we’re dealing with, the racial angle will never come up with this problem. Instead, the anger is directed against the monolithic “patriarchy.” If these catcallers are ever depicted, there’s a desperate attempt to show that they come from all “backgrounds”, or are fellow urban elves. The Daily Show’s segment on the phenomenon did just that and portrayed every male imaginable engaging in this behavior. (It even starred a Black female to show how “black bodies” are somehow objectified.)BuzzFeed’s video that “reversed” the roles of catcalling exclusively featured low T White and Asian males, implying that they are the ones committing this grave injustice.
The reason to place the blame on White males is easy: they’re the only ones who will listen to this drivel and their subjugation is the intent of feminism. That’s why rape culture and Gamergate dominate the feminist discourse more than street harassment. It’s much easier to conjure up villains when you’re dealing with gamer nerds and frat boys. It’s a lot harder when the perps are the lovable victims of White oppression. The intentional campaign to paint this as an issue that extends to all races and classes (when it doesn’t at all) then makes perfect sense. Otherwise, you’re left with an issue that would make great propaganda for those creepy racists.

The truth behind America’s most famous gay-hate murder. Matthew Shepard’s horrific death at the hands of redneck homophobes shocked America and changed its laws. Now a different truth is emerging, but does it matter? Julie Bindel reports

Matthew Shepard

The horrific killing of Matthew Shepard in 1998 is widely seen as one of the worst anti-gay hate crimes in American history. Matthew was beaten by two assailants, Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson. They pistol whipped him with a gun then tied him to a fence in freezing conditions and set fire to him before leaving him to die.
The attack became a cause célèbre: it precipitated a national backlash against hyper-macho culture and tacit tolerance of homophobia. As a result of Matthew’s death, many good things have happened for the gay community. The play The Laramie Project has toured the US and many other countries, telling Matthew’s story and encouraging campaigns against bigotry. Politicians and celebrities pledged support and funding to combat anti-gay hate crime. The Shepard family have become campaigners for gay rights. Judy and Dennis Shepard run theMatthew Shepard Foundation, which funds educational programmes and an online community for teens to discuss sexual orientation and gender issues. There have been numerous documentaries, dramas, books and events based on the story.
The men responsible for his death were convicted of first-degree murder and given two life sentences. They were not charged with a hate crime, as that wasn’t possible under Wyoming’s criminal law. But after lengthy wrangling in congress, President Obama finally signed the Matthew Shepard Act in 2009, a law which defined certain attacks motivated by victim identity as hate crimes.
But the Matthew Shepard story is not yet finished. A new twist came last year with the publication of another book, this one by investigative journalist Stephen Jimenez, who has spent 13 years interviewing more than 100 people with a connection to the case. His conclusion, outlined in The Book of Matt: Hidden Truths about the Murder of Matthew Shepard, is that the grotesque murder was not a hate crime, but could instead be blamed on crystal meth, a drug that was flooding Denver and the surrounding area at the time of Matthew’s death. This new theory has, understandably, caused a lot of anger.
Jimenez has faced a barrage of criticism since the publication of his book and has had readings to promote the book boycotted. Jimenez claims, however, that many of his critics have not actually read it. The Advocate, America’s leading LGBT magazine, published a piece last year entitled: “Why I’m Not Reading the ‘Trutherism’ About Matt Shepard”. Jimenez has been accused of being a revisionist, a criticism usually reserved for extreme rightwing ideologues that deny the Holocaust, and labelled a homophobe.
“People object to the idea of the book, rather than what is in the book,” says Jimenez. “The anger directed at me has been pretty extreme.”

NY State blesses ‘incest’ marriage between uncle, niece By Julia Marsh

NY State blesses ‘incest’ marriage between uncle, niece
The state’s highest court has toppled a cultural taboo — legalizing a degree of incest, at least between an uncle and niece — in a unanimous ruling.
While the laws against “parent-child and brother-sister marriages . . . are grounded in the almost universal horror with which such marriages are viewed . . . there is no comparably strong objection to uncle-niece marriages,” Tuesday’s ruling reads.
Judge Robert Smith of the Court of Appeals wrote that such unions were lawful in New York until 1893 and Rhode Island allows them.
The decision stems from a case brought by Vietnamese citizen Huyen Nguyen, 34, a woman who had appealed a ruling by an immigration judge.
The judge had tried to boot her from the United States after declaring that her 2000 marriage in Rochester to her mother’s half-brother was invalid.
Nguyen and her husband, Vu Truong, 38, appealed and won.
“I’m very happy for my clients,” said their lawyer, Michael Marszalkowski.
“They’ve been married 14 years now, but unfortunately, for half the time, there has been this concern over their heads about whether [the immigration issue] could be resolved. Thankfully, now it has been,” Marszalkowski said.
Marszalkowski said he won the case by zeroing in on the language of the state’s domestic-relations law.
The statute reads that “a marriage is incestuous and void whether the relatives are legitimate or illegitimate between either: 1. An ancestor and a descendant; 2. A brother and sister of either the whole or half blood; 3. An uncle and niece or an aunt and nephew.”
Incest is a crime punishable by a $50 to $100 fine and up to six months in jail.
Marszalkowski determined that as a matter of consanguinity, or blood relations, half-uncles and nieces share the same level of genetic ties as first cousins — or only one-eighth the same DNA.
“It really was the equivalent of cousins marrying, which has been allowed in New York state for well over 100 years,” Marszalkowski said.

Media Control: Top Jewish Supremacist Takes over Britain’s Guardian Newspaper

A longtime and well-known Jewish Supremacist and ethnic activist Jonathan Freedland has been appointed executive editor of Britain’s Guardian newspaper, strengthening Jewish control over that nation’s mass media once again.
The Guardian is one of Britain’s national daily newspapers, whose online edition was the third most widely read in the world as of June 2012. Its combined print and online editions reach nearly 9 million readers.
An overview of Freedland’s activities and background has been provided by theOccidental Observer’s Andrew Joyce:
Now executive editor at the Guardian, the work of Jonathan Freedland, may not be greatly familiar to readers, at least when compared to some other high-profile Jewish journalists active in the United States.
Journalism and a strong sense of Jewish identity seem to run in the Freedland blood. Jonathan is the son of Michael Freedland (1934– ), a biographer and journalist who specializes in Hollywood biographies and recently produced the scathing anti-McCarthy screed Witch Hunt in Hollywood: McCarthyism’s War on Tinseltown.
The basic thesis of Witch Hunt in Hollywood is that Sen. Joe McCarthy and the House Un-American Affairs Committee were engaged in an irrational and purely “anti-Semitic” purge of Hollywood.
The elder Freedland wrote: “For Communist read Jew. … The hearings were as (some would say more) anti-Semitic as anti-Communist. Hollywood was chosen for the attack because of the great publicity value the movie capital offered. It was also a great opportunity to get at the Jews of Hollywood.”[1]
Freedland Senior is also one of those Jews who, as Kevin MacDonald elucidates inCulture of Critique, viewed supporters of McCarthy as “intellectual and cultural primitives.”[2]
The younger Freedland began his own writing career at the short-lived Sunday Correspondent, a London newspaper backed by Rothschild Ventures, and which also launched the career of current Newsnight editor Ian Katz.

The Vibrant and Enriching World of Street Harassment

Conversations With History: John Mearsheimer and Steve Walt

Godless millennials could end the political power of the religious right by Adam Lee

young voters

America is becoming less Christian because young people are less religious. That’s not blessed news for conservatives

The 2014 midterm elections are drawing near, and it appears that the Democrats may well lose the Senate, since they’re fighting on unfriendly territory – a large number of seats in red states are up for grabs.
But if you look deeper than the national picture, there’s a more interesting story. In southern states like Georgia and Kentucky – which in the past would have been easy Republican holds - the races are unexpectedly tight. In fact, the only reason that the questions of which party will control the Senate in 2015 is unsettled at all is that an unusual number of races in dark red states are toss-ups, despite an overall political climate that generally favors conservatives.

What we’re seeing may well be the first distant rumblings of a trend that’s been quietly gathering momentum for years: America is becoming less Christian. In every region of the country, in every Christian denomination, membership is either stagnant or declining. Meanwhile, the number of religiously unaffiliated people – atheists, agnostics, those who are indifferent to religion, or those who follow no conventional faith – is growing. In some surprising places, these “nones” (as in “none of the above”) now rank among the largest slices of the demographic pie.

Even in the deep South, the Republican base of white evangelical Christians is shrinking – and in some traditional conservative redoubts like Arkansas, Georgia and Kentucky, it’s declined as a percentage of the population by double digits.Even Alabama is becoming less Christian. Meanwhile, there’s been a corresponding increase in the religiously unaffiliated, who tend to vote more Democratic.

While the effect on evangelicals is new, the general pattern isn’t. The Catholic church, the largest single religious denomination in America, was the first to feel the pinch. Church leaders and Catholic apologists have been fretting for years over the problem of aging and shrinking congregations, declining attendance at Mass and fewer people signing up to become priests or nuns – although their proposals for how to solve the problem all consist of tinkering around the edges, or insisting that they need to try harder to convince people to believe as they do.

America’s next-largest denomination, the Southern Baptist Convention, held out a bit longer but has now come down with the same affliction. Membership has been declining for the last several years – to the point where half of SBC churches will close their doors by 2030 if current trends persist. And as with the Catholic church, the SBC defenders with the biggest platforms have insisted that they don’t need to change anything if they just double down on their existing policies and pray harder for revival.

Manufacturing Dissent—The Ruling Class’s Saul Alinsky Strategy in Ferguson MO By James Kirkpatrick

Manufacturing Dissent—The Ruling Class’s Saul Alinsky Strategy in Ferguson MO
The past and much-anticipated future riots in Ferguson, Missouri aren’t spontaneous civil disorder—they are an example of how the U.S. is governed in the multicultural, post-American age. Undeterred by the Trayvon Martin farce, the Main Stream Media, professional racial activists, and Obama’s Justice Department areimplacably committed to the story that police officer Darren Wilson murdered “Gentle Giant” Michael Brown, regardless of the facts. And the riots widely predicted if Darren Wilson isn’t indicted are less a protest against police misconduct than a ginned up attempt to ensure black voter turnout. It’s not a protest against the system—it’s the system working as designed.
We’re certainly getting enough advance notice of the riots. Michael Brown’s aunt is promising that Officer Wilson will “feel and see the wrath of God’s vengeance come… in a mighty way, just as he promised all who do evil in his sight.” [Brown’s Aunt Warns Officer Wilson Will ‘Feel the Wrath of God’s Vengeance,’ CBS St. Louis,October 22, 2014] Oddly enough, the usual suspects eager to mock Christianity when it is expressed by white conservatives seem silent about these Westboro Baptist-type promises of divine retribution.
Protestors are vowing that if there is not an indictment, “all hell is going to break loose.” This includes professional racial profiteers like Amy Hunter [Email her] “racial justice director” of the YWCA St. Louis. Hunter (pictured right) coos that
Everybody is planning for whatever the grand jury decides… Certainly there are lots of us that are planning peaceful protests should it not be indicted. Certainly there are other people that have other ideas at hand.
What those “other ideas” entail, only Ferguson small business owners can know for sure.

Snowden 2.0: Report Says FBI Has Identified “Second Leaker” Of Govt Secrets

Individual who may be national security whistleblower—'an employee of a federal contractor'—now under active criminal investigation by Justice Department, says new reporting.
The U.S. government has identified the person it believes is the so-called “second leaker” who has given over classified national security documents to some of the same journalists who have reported on many of the documents leaked by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden this year, a news report claimed on Monday.
“The Obama administration in my view is conducting a war against whistleblowers and ultimately against independent journalism.” —journalist Jeremy ScahillAccording to Michael Isikoff at Yahoo News!, citing law enforcement and intelligence sources who have been briefed on the case, the FBI has already searched the home of the individual—said to be “an employee of a federal contractor”—and prosecutors from the Department of Justice in Northern Virginia currently have an open criminal investigation into the alleged actions of this still-unidentified person.
As Isikoff reports:
The case in question involves an Aug. 5 story published by The Intercept, an investigative website co-founded by Glenn Greenwald, the reporter who first published sensitive NSA documents obtained from Snowden.
Headlined “Barack Obama’s Secret Terrorist-Tracking System, by the Numbers,” the story cited a classified government document showing that nearly half the people on the U.S. government’s master terrorist screening database had “no recognized terrorist affiliation.”
The story, co-authored by Jeremy Scahill and Ryan Devereaux, was accompanied by a document “obtained from a source in the intelligence community” providing details about the watch-listing system that were dated as late as August 2013, months after Snowden fled to Hong Kong and revealed himself as the leaker of thousands of top secret documents from the NSA.
This prompted immediate speculation that there was a “second leaker” inside the U.S. intelligence community providing material to Greenwald and his associates.
As Isikoff notes in his report, the fact that a second person has been feeding The Intercept high-level documents was dramatically confirmed in the just-released documentary film Citizenfour, directed by Laura Poitras, which chronicles the Snowden revelations alongside an examination of the mass surveillance conducted throughout the world by the NSA. In a scene in the film, shot in Moscow, Greenwald is shown telling Snowden that there is a new leaker, though there is no indication about who this person is or how much information that person may have divulged.

Following some of the revelations contained in Scahill and Devereaux’s reporting, the ACLU recently citedthe new information in ongoing federal lawsuits which it has helped bring against the government on behalf of clients who found themselves on the nation’s No-Fly List.

Why the Media’s Ukraine Narrative Fell Apart

Exactly how much of the Ukraine propaganda from a few months back is being flushed down the toilet? The media appears to be pulling the plug on the Ukraine campaign. It has been a little over a month after the truce was enacted that Putin designed. The EU is backing away from a trade pact with Ukraine. The NY Times released an article that the Ukrainians did use cluster bombs as Putin alleged. The Germans justcleared the Russians of downing MH 17. Another leak shows that Putin did not offer parts of a carved up Ukraine to Poland (“overinterpreted”) as the former Polish foreign minister alleged. American media has, once again, revealed that nearly everything they claimed and trumpeted in the past is false, and that what they called lies are truth. There will be no consequences. There never are. The better question is: why is this happening?
Europe’s economy is a mess and sanctions actually hurt them. It does not hurt the entire realm, but it hurts the heavy hitters who are doing the pulling to keep their whole system afloat. Russian gas fuels German industry, and the Germans, idiotically after Fukushima, decided to shut down their nuclear reactors. Where’s the cheap electricity now, frau? Russia also made a big move that turned the natural gas game in their favor. Russia inked that huge natgas deal with China, diversifying their consumer base; providing China and possibly other Asian manufacturing centers with natgas makes Europe less important.
And it’s not just foreign moves that matter, as this is the USG’s show. If Putin starts strutting again, the situation can be restarted anytime Soros and company want. The War Party now has their military industrial complex expenditures in the Middle East. Billions can be spent on the rapidly expanding long slog to beat back IS. Ukraine itself is to blame. The Ukrainian military was so inept and terrible that they were losing to rebels on the ground and starting to look bad in the media war. Once people start seeing the ‘neo-Nazi’ side of the new leaders in Ukraine, it will scare them off since the media will say ‘Shoah’, and no one wants a Shoah. Never again. It is also late October. Winter is coming. It will be cold in Ukraine without Russian gas. New governments with tentative holds on their nation fighting the perception of Washington puppets want to keep their people warm.

Aliens . . . or Demons? Reinterpreting M. Night Shyamalan’s “Signs” by Stephen Klugewicz

Director M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs tells the story of a farmer and his family in eastern Pennsylvania who are among the first to experience the onset of an alien invasion of the Earth. Graham Hess (Mel Gibson) is an ex-Episcopal priest who lost his Christian faith after his wife was hit and killed by a truck whose driver fell asleep at the wheel. After the accident, Graham quit the priesthood, turned to farming, and, as the movie begins, is trying his best to raise his two children, Morgan and Bo (Rory Caulkin and Abigail Breslin). Graham’s brother Merrill (Joaquin Phoenix) has moved in with his brother in an effort to comfort him and help with the child-rearing.
Mysterious events begin to occur on the Hess farm. First a crop circle is found in the cornfield; next, the family dog attempts to attack the Hess children; then someone is seen climbing at night onto the roof of the family’s house. Graham reports the events to the police, and soon it is learned via television news that such strange happenings are taking place around the world. Strange lights appear in the sky, and a frightening creature is captured on video at a kids’ birthday party in Brazil. Graham has two disturbing close encounters of his own with apparent alien beings. The Hess family eventually is forced to barricade themselves  in their farmhouse, where they wage a final confrontation with the attacking aliens.
Using a technique that made his earlier film The Sixth Sense a smashing success, director Shyamalan introduces a “payoff,” a shocking revelation that gives new meaning to film’s prior events, at the end of Signs. Here the aliens are defeated by the Hess family through a combination of seemingly meaningless and unrelated earlier events. Graham’s dying wife had told him vaguely to “see” and instructed him to tell Merrill, a former baseball player, to “swing away.” When the Hesses confront the lone remaining alien, Graham recalls his wife’s words and looks up to see one of Merrill’s baseball bats–with which he set a home run record–hanging on the wall. As Merrill begins to club the alien with it, a glass of water falls on the alien’s skin, burning it. Little Bo has a habit of leaving half-finished glasses of water around the house; an annoying routine has suddenly become a crucial survival factor. Too, Morgan’s asthma, a life-threatening condition, now saves his life when the alien sprays poison gas into his face. This series of events seems to answer the central question of the film: Are life’s events random and meaningless, or are our actions fated and our souls the intimate concern of God?

Isaac Asimov Asks, “How Do People Get New Ideas?”

Note from Arthur Obermayer, friend of the author:

In 1959, I worked as a scientist at Allied Research Associates in Boston. The company was an MIT spinoff that originally focused on the effects of nuclear weapons on aircraft structures. The company received a contract with the acronym GLIPAR (Guide Line Identification Program for Antimissile Research) from the Advanced Research Projects Agency to elicit the most creative approaches possible for a ballistic missile defense system. The government recognized that no matter how much was spent on improving and expanding current technology, it would remain inadequate. They wanted us and a few other contractors to think “out of the box.”

When I first became involved in the project, I suggested that Isaac Asimov, who was a good friend of mine, would be an appropriate person to participate. He expressed his willingness and came to a few meetings. He eventually decided not to continue, because he did not want to have access to any secret classified information; it would limit his freedom of expression. Before he left, however, he wrote this essay on creativity as his single formal input. This essay was never published or used beyond our small group. When I recently rediscovered it while cleaning out some old files, I recognized that its contents are as broadly relevant today as when he wrote it. It describes not only the creative process and the nature of creative people but also the kind of environment that promotes creativity.

How do people get new ideas?

Presumably, the process of creativity, whatever it is, is essentially the same in all its branches and varieties, so that the evolution of a new art form, a new gadget, a new scientific principle, all involve common factors. We are most interested in the “creation” of a new scientific principle or a new application of an old one, but we can be general here.

One way of investigating the problem is to consider the great ideas of the past and see just how they were generated. Unfortunately, the method of generation is never clear even to the “generators” themselves.

But what if the same earth-shaking idea occurred to two men, simultaneously and independently? Perhaps, the common factors involved would be illuminating. Consider the theory of evolution by natural selection, independently created by Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace.

There is a great deal in common there. Both traveled to far places, observing strange species of plants and animals and the manner in which they varied from place to place. Both were keenly interested in finding an explanation for this, and both failed until each happened to read Malthus’s “Essay on Population.”

Both then saw how the notion of overpopulation and weeding out (which Malthus had applied to human beings) would fit into the doctrine of evolution by natural selection (if applied to species generally).

Major consumer media study finds liberals far less tolerant than normal people By Andrew Malcolm

Someone heard "I am absolutely confident" once too often.

How do you stack up in a national sampling of political news consumers -- your sources, habits and friends?
A fascinating, major new survey by the Pew Research Journalism Project is examining political polarization in the United States of 2014. The report comes just two weeks before a crucial midterm election that will be widely read as a six-year verdict on Barack Obama's performance and agenda, whatever that is today.
Here are just some of the project's numerous intriguing findings:
* Conservatives tend to flock around one major news source for their news of government and politics -- Fox News -- perhaps because the list of known conservative media consists of Fox News and Fox News. Also Fox News.
Liberals draw information from a wider variety of media and express far more trust in more major media than do conservatives. Perhaps because there are more liberal-oriented media to trust.
Liberals are much less tolerant than conservatives of political opinions differing from their own, especially on social media, more consistently choosing to Unfriend, Block, Mute or sever friendships with those whose politics they disagree with.
*  Overall, the most-trusted news media was The Economist, though it was recognized by a small sector of respondents. It was followed in trust by another British-based outlet, the BBC. Take that, MSM!
The least-trusted source overall was BuzzFeed, followed by the radio programs of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Ed Schultz, who was tied as untrusted with Al Jazeera America. Daily Kos was in there too.
* Pew's list of media outlets that were more trusted than distrusted across the political spectrum was lead by the Wall Street Journal. Others more trusted than distrusted to a lesser degree included ABC News, USA Today and Google News.
*  The Center's list of media about equally trusted and distrusted includes the Drudge Report, Daily Show, Huffington Post and Breitbart.
*  Media generally trusted overall include Fox News, Bloomberg, Yahoo News, Washington Post and The Guardian.
